Excellent, safe, trustworthy guide for Angkor Wat and surrounding areas!

A friend put me in touch with Sophoan Rath before my trip to Cambodia. I am so grateful to her for putting us in touch and to Poan for the time he spent with us - he spent 3 days giving us a personalized tour of Angkor Wat and the surrounding villages, and they were the among most memorable of *any* of my travels (and I have traveled a lot!).

Angkor Wat is an expansive collection of temples with remarkable history, and while we had been tempted to tour the sights on our own, we could never have approached the same level of insight that Poan gave us, and we made a lifelong friend in the meantime. His rates were more than reasonable given the thoughtful, personalized tour we received, and as two young women traveling alone, we always felt safe and secure with Poan as our guide.

In addition to the temples, we spent a day with Poan visiting the surrounding countryside seeing some remarkable floating markets, floating villages, and entire villages built on stilts to withstand the rainy season. The local people were quite amazed to see us and very friendly - in particular the children, who just love having their pictures taken! As a local, Poan was able to give us unique insights into the culture and customs and introduce us to locals who welcomed us with open arms. It really was an amazing experience, to see and learn about the local people and their villages first-hand.

Toward the end of our trip, Poan shared with us a bit of his personal perspective on the Khmer Rouge atrocities from his own experience, as he unfortunately lived through this as a young child. It is one thing to read about and see the atrocities and another to hear a first-hand account from a child's perspective. I hope to respect his privacy but truly I have so much respect for him, and all that he has become, having endured so much as a young child.

I wholeheartedly recommend Poan's services and would also heartily trust anyone he recommends, as well. I have no doubt he provides the best tour guide experience in the Siem Reap area

A wonderful trip guided by Mr. Poan

I booked a trip to Cambodia with Air Asia without any clue of where to stay or visit, just bofore I was going to cancel the trip, Mr. Poan came to rescue. Mr. Poan picked us up at Phnom Penn International Airport without asking for deposite or any kind of promise from me before our landing, (how did he know we will show up??) he arranged a clean and affortable hotel for us, after showing the capital city, he took us to Siam Reap the following day, again we love the ancient city. Mr. Poan is such a caring guide, we were traveling with my mother who is 71 years old, he always planned the trip with my mother in mind, he made sure she was comfortable and has plenty of rest before we visited another site, we were constantly well fed with local food, we have the such a wonderful time under his care. After 3 days at Siam Reap, he took us back to the capital city, he knew my mother loves casino, he granted her wish; My 12 years old daughter also got her taste of gambling as well! (Thanks God she learned losing money is not fun at all) Mr. Poan is not just a very knowledgable tour guide, he is also a teacher, my daughter who speaks only English enjoys his humors and many stories he had told, she learns Cambodia culture firsthand from the best tour guide-Mr. Poan. We have such a wonderful visit to Cambodia, we miss the sweetest mango in the world, the fried crikets and fried tarantura, the snake fish in banans wrap, the stir fried morning glory, the shopping, the history.... Yes, we will visit Cambodia and Mr. Poan again soon.

Now in Polish: Poan jest wspanialym przewodnikiem. Juz drugi raz byl moim przewodnikiem po Kambodzy. Czlowiek ma ogromna wiedze i wysoka kulture osobista. Jego osobista historia zycia mrozi krew w zylach. Ale teraz to wspanialy czlowiek i przewodnik, ktorego polecam kazdemu.

Best experience, lifetime memories. Poan excells himself as an excelent tour leader having everything flawlessly organized. Poan and Bopa's huge human abilities strenghtened our group's experience on Cambodia. I would definitly recommend Poan as tour guide without any doubts.

Thanks to Poan me and my friends spent a great time in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Angkor Temples. Everything perfectly arranged and organised. We heard from Poan a lot of interestings stories about Khmer's history and culture. Folowing our wish Poan also led us on the bike tours through the main and village roads arround Angkor what was very, very impressive. Great job, great knowledge, great biking!
